Q.
Can I connect two computers to the projector and use both for a presentation?
A.
PS200 Series and PV100 Series projectors have two computer input ports, allowing two personal computers to be connected to the projector at the same time. Use the SOURCE button on the remote controller or on the projector itself to switch between the two inputs.
Q.
Can I connect one computer to two projectors?
A.
Ordinarily this would require the purchase of a signal splitter, but the PS200 Series and PV100 Series projectors have a monitor output port that allows a presentation to be shown using two projectors.
To configure projectors in this way, first connect an RGB cable from the computer to the computer input connector on one of the projectors. Next, run a cable from the monitor output connector on that projector to the computer input connector on the second projector. Both projectors will now show the same images. Note, however, that the second projector can be used only to show images from the computer input port; it will not show images from the S-Video or composite video input.
Q.
In what situations does auto focus function?
A.
The focus is adjusted automatically when using the zoom ring to set the size of the screen images, or when adjusting the screen angle. When the projector is moved or tilted, a built-in acceleration sensor detects this and the focus is readjusted automatically. Auto focus can also be performed at any time simply by pressing the AUTO FOCUS button on the remote controller or on the projector itself.
(PS200 Series only)
Q.
Can auto focus be turned off?
A.
Yes, by setting auto focus to OFF on the MENU screen. Even when auto focus is set to OFF, focus can be adjusted automatically by pressing the AUTO FOCUS button on the remote controller or projector. Since there is no focus ring, manual focusing cannot be performed on the projector. To adjust the focus manually, press the button on the remote controller.
(PS200 Series only)
Q.
How many seconds does auto focusing take?
A.
The infrared sensor on the front of the projector determines the distance to the screen instantaneously; the length of time for completing auto focusing is therefore simply the time required for rotating the lens, or about four seconds maximum.
(PS200 Series only)
Q.
At what range does auto focus work?
A.
Auto focus will work with screen sizes ranging from 31 inches (with a projection distance of 1.2 m) to 148 inches (with a projection distance of 5m). Adjust the focus manually when screen is placed over 5m and under 1.2m.
(PS200 Series only)
Q.
Why does the colour wheel have six colours?
A.
DLP® projectors up to now have used four-colour wheels consisting of the primary colours of light, namely RGB, plus W (white). Adding the intermediary colours C (cyan) and Y (yellow) expands the breadth of colour reproduction especially in the yellow and light blue regions, so images of natural scenery are displayed more faithfully and pleasingly.
Q.
What is the purpose of variable illumination?
A.
Variable illumination is a function that adjusts the light output applied to each colour on the colour wheel. Increasing the amount of light on the R (red) portion of the colour wheel, for example, has the same effect as increasing the size of the red area on the wheel. Using variable illumination, a variety of colour balance modes can be created without having to change the colour wheel itself.
